France’s Maxime Livio and Boleybawn Prince have claimed the first round of Agria Top 10 Indoor Eventing during the Sweden International Horse Show at Friends Arena on Thursday 24th November
"He is just an amazing horse” says Maxime of Boleybawn Prince who is a bit of a specialist in Indoor Eventing but has had a career at top level eventing
“He did Boekelo when he was eight with the German team. I'm training the Thailand eventing team and now he belongs to one of my Thai riders. He's 17 now and still loves to compete.
We train him for these competitions because they are not so physically demanding. He can just have big fun and feel the atmosphere of the big shows. I'm very lucky to have this horse and I'm very thankful to his owners who let me ride him."
Maxime took the 25,000 Euro prize money with a penalty score of 30.92, just ahead of Denmark’s Peter Flarup riding Fascination and Sweden’s Sofia Sjoborg riding Eastbourne, who both finished on 31.31 for second and third places
The ten riders included Olympic champion Julia Krajewski riding Nickel 21 (6th place), World Number One Tim Price on board Celladon (8th place), British Olympic team gold medallist Oliver Townend riding Sotomayor (eliminated) and 2022 World Championship team silver medalist Boyd Martin riding Caruccio Paradise (5th)
Sofia Sjoborg riding Eastbourne
The three Swedish riders who competed at the World Championships in September, Sofia, Frida Anderson and Aminda Ingulfson, delivering the Swedish ticket for eventing at the Paris 2024 Olympics Games also took part.
The Agria Top 10 Indoor Eventing is back for the big showdown on Sunday night with the Thursday night qualifier determining the starting order in Sunday's competition. Thursday’s winner Maxime Livio will start last in the final, giving him the benefit of seeing the other competitors and adding to the excitement for the spectators!
