Piggy March and Vanir Kamira
An Eventful Life is filming all competitors on cross country at
The NAF Five Star Hartpury International 2022
Piggy March’s Badminton winner Vanir Kamira became the first mare to win the CCI4* at Hartpury on Saturday after finishing the cross country course on her dressage score of 26.4
Piggy finished three penalties ahead of Ros Canter and Lordships Graffalo, the leader after dressage who dropped down with one rail in the morning’s show jumping but also produced a fabulous quick round on cross country with just 0.8 time penalties
Kitty King riding Vendredi Biats rounded out the top three, show jumping clear and adding 5.2 time penalties to finish on a score of 32
Italy’s Giovanni Ugolotti riding Duke of Champions was the only non-British rider in the top ten, securing fifth place behind Tom McEwen and Bob Chaplin in fourth, while Izzy Taylor and Monkeying Around took sixth place
Alex Hua Tian and Jillsonne van Bareelhof
The NAF Superflex CCI3-L and NAF M Power CCI2*-L also completed cross country on Saturday and now go forward to the final phase of show jumping on Sunday.
The dressage leaders have maintained their top placings in both classes with China’s Alex Hua Tian riding Jillsonne van Bareelhof and Jason Wood riding Nitor both jumping double clear
But neither has much wriggle room with second placed Stephen Heal riding I Diablo Joe in the CCI3* and Kitty King riding RHS Monbeg Marshall in the CCI2* both less than a rail behind the leader
