Emily in Adelaide - the final 4* on her bucket list ticked off - with Shane Rose's Virgil
One of our favourite super-grooms, Emily Littlejohn, was recently awarded a Highly Commended certificate in the Haddon Training British Grooms Awards
Emily has recently left Bill and Jenny Levett’s yard to further her career in a different area and they nominated Emily for her huge contribution to Team Levett during her four years with them
“She ran a happy and successful team, demonstrated a fabulous eye for detail, and would always go the extra mile when it came to looking after the horses – who all adored her” says Bill
“Most importantly she showed her true professionalism last summer in the run up to and then during the bitter disappointment of not going to the Olympics with 24 hours to go before boarding the plane”
In 2015 we caught up with Emily at the Australian International 3 Day Event where she was helping John Twomey during her ‘vacation’ in Australia
We were very impressed with the then 20-year old Scottish girl who managed her role with such professionalism and good humour
“It is just one big community, no matter how far you go” said Emily when we talked to her in Adelaide about her job with Bill and Jenny, what it’s like to have groomed at all of the 4* events in the world and a World Championship and the special bond with the horses in her care
