The connections of Nobilis 18 are Kentucky bound .........
We recently looked at Michael Jung’s competition plans for 2017 and noted that ‘things could play out quite differently if the current Land Rover Burghley champion, Chris Burton opted to compete at Kentucky’.
As Chris shares with us in this interview at the recent International Eventing Forum, this is indeed the plan. With the Burghley 2016 title under his belt, Chris is currently in the hot seat to attempt the Rolex Grand Slam in 2017.
He would need to win at Kentucky and Badminton to take the coveted title and prize money of $350,000 and, although he is not pre-empting anything, he has taken the first step by committing to competing in Kentucky. The horse he will be taking is the Burghley winner Nobilis 18, owned by Sue Lawson and Carolyn Townsend
Ellie Kelly talked to Chris at the International Eventing Forum about his training methods, the horses he rode at IEF and his plans for 2017
