Piggy French has been honoured yet again for her phenomenal year of success as she was presented with the British Equestrian Writers Association Trophy at Olympia.
Piggy, who had a record breaking 15 international eventing wins in 2019 including victory at Badminton Horse Trials and second place at Burghley with the mare Vanir Kamira (‘she means loads but she’s a pain in the a..!’) , also took European team silver with Quarrycrest Echo and was recently awarded the Horse & Hound Professional Rider of the Year
But one thing is left on her bucket list - representing Britain at Olympic Games
“I’ve never managed it yet. It’s definitely something I really want to do; I’ve been off for the past six weeks with a foot operation, so I feel like I’m slightly behind at the minute but there’s still seven months to go. Anything can happen, it’s going to be a strange year, they only take three people (in the team) so I’m going to just keep doing what I’m doing and if it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be. I know if I’m there (in Tokyo) I’ll give it my very best shot”
