Chris Burton and Polystar I, third in the ERM CIC3*
It may not have been a winning weekend for Sam Griffiths but he certainly was on top form for this interview with Chris Burton and Samantha Clark (and a mouse …)
Sam and Chris were both competing at the St James’s Place Barbury Horse Trials where Chris certainly had a good weekend. He started out by winning two of the four Novice classes on Lawtown Girl and Caliber Royale plus he finished second on board Coup De Coeur Dudevin in another Novice, before winning a CIC2* class on Bahira M and placing third in the Event Rider Masters CIC3* (which also put him in the lead of the overall Series). Not a bad few days at the sunny office in Wiltshire although Chris was finding the English summer heat more akin to a pleasant Australian winter’s day - ah, you can take the boy out of Queensland but you can never take Queensland out of the boy!
Sam and Happy Times
Sam admits he didn’t have quite as good an event ‘I’m having one to forget!’ with the show jumping arena causing some problems but it can never be a bad week when you’re listed on the Squad for your country’s team at the coming World Equestrian Games
Samantha Clark caught up with Chris and Sam in the shade at Barbury to find out how things were going with the two good friends and team mates
