“I sneaked a look at the board and saw a score with a 3 in the front and that’s what you want to deliver when you go out first (for the team) so I’m very, very happy”
It was a strong start by Germany this morning at the FEI European Championships as Julia Krajewski on Samourai Du Thot took an early lead with a score of 36.3
The fifth combination into the arena, they started with a score trending in the low 30’s which crept up a little throughout the test but it was error free, a delight to watch and scored well with all three judges who each had the combination in first place.
All of the riders seem to be of the opinion that the cross country course they will face on Saturday will be tough but Germany has a secret weapon (which is not so secret any more) in Andrew Nicholson. Andrew arrived today and will be spending time reviewing the cross country course with the German team in his capacity as cross country adviser
“He’s got so much experience on many, many horses around every course ..... he might not know my horse so well yet but he can give us an overview of everything that can happen on the course which is really helpful”
