Australia leads the FEI Nations Cup CICO3* at Fontainebleau after the dressage phase with Andrew Hoy and Bill Levett in third and fourth places individually.
Michael Jung leads the class on his non-team horse FischerRocana FST with a score of 34.7 and is second on the team horse La Biosthetique Sam (35.9) while Andrew Hoy riding Cheeky Calimbo is in third place on 40.6.
Bill Levett riding Improvise has been on the verge of producing some great tests in the past 12 months and today scored 42.7 for third place on the 12 year old Irish Sport Horse Improvise, just 0.2 below their personal best score at this level.
Chris Burton is in fourth place on his non-team horse, Nobilis 18 (43.2) and in 30th place on his nominated team horse Haruzac
This means that Australia leads on a combined score of 133.60 with Germany close behind on 135.5 and France in third on 137.4 going into tomorrow’s cross country phase. The course is designed by Pierre Michelet who will be the course designer for Rio 2016 and it seems that it will be a tough and large course for the 3* riders
Michael Jung also leads the CIC1* Section B after dressage and cross country riding fischerincantas (37.2) just ahead of France’s Thomas Carlile riding Vinka’s (38.3) and Belgium’s Karin Donckers riding Hamilton on the same score but in third place due to Thomas being 0.1 second faster on cross country
France’s Victor Levecque has a healthy lead in the CIC1* Under 25 riding RNH Mc Ustinov going into the show jumping and a Dutch rider, Eefr Hamers riding Balou leads the CIC2* on 32.7. China’s Alex Hua Tian is in second place on Don Geniro (find out more about this talented combination here) and Cedric Lyard is in third riding Cadeau du Roi. Chris Burton is also in the hunt in this class in fourth place on Polyglot I
