The organisers of Chatsworth International Horse Trials have taken the decision to sit out the 2025 season as they look at options on the calendar to better suit their event.
Chatsworth was forced to cancel in May this year due to torrential rain and the 2023 fixture was also adversely affected by weather and ground conditions. The organisers have therefore been working with British Eventing to see if running later in the season, to mitigate at least some of the risk, might be possible.
Unfortunately, it has proved difficult at this stage to find an appropriate slot on the calendar and Chatsworth has decided to re-group in 2025 and return in 2026.
“The last two years have been extremely difficult for all involved with the horse trials, but we are committed to finding the best course of action to secure its future. A break in 2025 will give us a chance to have a fresh look at the event and to make sure we can again produce top class competition in 2026” says Event Director Patricia Clifton.
