The French team has kept their lead after the demanding cross country course in the Nations Cup competition at Lotto Strzegom Horse Trials. Great Britain has moved to the second position, and the Polish team is currently in third place, having moved up from sixth

Mateusz Kiempa, the best rider in the team, has finished the course without any jumping penalties but with a few points for the time, which places him on the 13th position individually.

“The cross country went good, Lassban Radovix has jumped really well, it is a very brave horse. We are slightly late, he is very willing to jump, but unfortunately he is not fast enough”

There have been a lot of changes in the individual ranking of the CIC3* class with the new leader now Yoshiaki Oiwa (JPN) with Calle 44 after he withdrew his top horse Duke of Cavan before the cross country. The leader after dressage, Marie Kraack, has been pushed to the fourth position and second place is now taken by the French rider Maxime Livio riding Opium de Verrieres with Britain’s Alice Dunsdon in third place, moving up from 15th after dressage.

The remaining British team riders, Wills Oakden on Cooley Ramiro are in seventh place (37.50) and Coral Keen on Wellshead Fare Opposition are in 11th place (40.80)

All the cross country trials for the long CCI competitions ended on Saturday. In the 3* competition the athletes and their horses had to face 32 obstacles over the course of 5700 metres. After a clear ride Swedish rider Sara Algotsson Ostholt has kept the lead that she gained after the dressage with Wega.

“She was absolutely brilliant, she saved me a couple of times, when I was a little bit too relaxed. She's such a fantastic horse, I trust her 100% and I think she also trusts me. We've known each other for 17 years now, she's so smart and intelligent and such a good character.”

Sara’s brother-in-law, Adreas Ostholt (GER) has gone up into the second position with So Is Et. Belgian rider Karin Donckers is currently third with Fletcha van’t Verahof. "It was really good, I didn't have any trouble at all, all fences were really perfect, I didn't take any risks, I wanted to give him a very good round before Tryon".

Kai Rüder (GER), with Chicago M, has gained some penalty points for exceeding the time allowed in the cross country trial in today’s CI-long 2* competition. Sara Algotsson Ostholt is currently first and second, with Cesar V and Apertina accordingly.

Paweł Warszawski (POL) with Hummer has kept his first place in the CI-long 1* class. Sophie Grieger (GER) is currently second with Costakovich, and Niklas Bschorer (GER) and Back In Time 2 are currently third.

It was time for the jumping trials for the CI-short competitions. In the CI-short 2* Maxime Livio (FRA) has kept his leading position with Ariano du Quinze. Andreas Dibowski (GER) with FRH Corrida is now second after his ride, and third place for now goes to Julia Krajewski (GER) Amande de B’Néville. Mateusz Kiempa (POL) and Libertina has lost his leading position after two knockdowns. Nevertheless, a clear round with Ambrozio J has gained him the 5th place so far.

In the CI-short 1* competition Frank Ostholt (GER) on Carlson 119 is the leader for now.

On Sunday it is time for the jumping tests, which will determine the winners of the Nations Cup and the CI-long star competitions. The national and short CI classes will face their cross country courses tomorrow.
