France takes first leg of FEI Nations Cup Eventing

The first leg of the 2018 FEI Nations Cup Eventing CICO3* in Vairano, Italy was dominated by the French team of Luc Chateau and Propriano de l'Ebat, Maxime Livio with Pica d'Or, Brice Luda with Valere de Bonnieres and Raphael Cochet with Sherazad de Louviere. The French took the led from the very start and maintained that lead ahead of the Swedish and Italian teams until the very end, finishing on a total score of 88.20

The silver medal winning Swedish team had only three combinations; Christoffer Forsberg and Hippo's Sapporo, Ludwig Svennerstal on Balham Mist and Anna Freskgard with Box Qutie. In second place after the dressage, Sweden moved down slightly after the cross country but resumed their placing thanks to a good show jumping phase to finish on 124.3.

The Italian home side included Clelia Casiraghi with Verdi, Rebecca Chiappero and Quilando Z, Fosco Girardi and Feldheger and Arianna Schivo with Quefira de l'Ormeau finished in third place with 128.6.

While three of the four French team members finished in the top six, the individual title was taken by the Netherlands’ Alice Naber-Lozeman on board ACSI Peter Parker with a score of 26

The CICO3* also incorporated the Italian Championships, won by Arianna Schivo and Quefira de l'Ormeau with a score of 36.9 while Susanna Bordone and Dinky Inky won the CCI3

The next leg of the FEI Nations Cup will be held at Houghton Hall, UK from 25th -27th May

       The winning French team
