"He's a very good jumper" says Matthieu of Trouble Fete ENE HN
French riders have certainly made an impression recently at English events. Thomas Carlile very nearly won at Belton International, Arnaud Boiteau, Thibault Fournier and Astier Nicolas starred at Chatsworth and this weekend Matthieu Van Landeghem helped his team to win a medal in the Nations Cup competition at Houghton Hall (watch Arnaud's winning XC ride here and Astier's XC ride here)
Matthieu pulled off the performance of his career so far, taking second place individually on his dressage score of 40.4 and a bronze team medal. Matthieu, a rider for the Cadre Noir at Saumur, was making his debut for the French team at a Nations Cup competition
He was extremely happy with his the nine year old Anglo Arab Trouble Fete ENE HN who he hopes will be a strong contender for the French team at the European Championships in Strzegom next year
What a lovely smile! Matthieu receives his jacket as the second placed rider in the Tri-Star Eventing Grand Slam
