Piggy interviews Sam Griffiths after his cross country ride
Top British rider Piggy French, who is expecting her first baby and taking a break from riding, tried her hand at commentary for the first time at the Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials and was a resounding success! Not only was it was great to listen to her interviews but also fun to watch her talking to the riders, many of whom are her friends
“I do know them quite well so when they come over to me for an interview, I’m grinning like a Cheshire cat; I know how much it means to them and I know what they’re going through” says Piggy
“It’s definitely a bit different and I’ve enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would do. I haven’t sworn too much but I think I’ve probably embarrassed myself a bit ... singing to Michael Jung was probably not one of the best moments of my life but it’s been quite amusing” (listen to now famous interview with Michael at the bottom of this page)
However, it won’t take over from her real love of riding and competing and, once the baby is born “I’ll be itching to get back to it”
