Paweł Warszawski rides Lucinda Ex Ani 4 to lead the dressage at Baborowko Equestrian Festival (POL)
The Group C 2023 FEI Designated Eventing Olympic Qualification Event: 20 - 21 May 2023 at Baborowko Equestrian Festival (POL)
The highest ranked team from the CCIO4*-L will secure Olympic qualification for Paris 2024 and, after the first phase of dressage, it is currently Poland who holds the lead on a total of 94.6.
The Polish combination of Paweł Warszawski and Lucinda Ex Ani 4 lead the class on a score of 29.7 while his team-mates, Janek Kamiński riding Jard (31,4) and Malgorzata Korycka riding Canvalencia (35.6) are in third and eighth places and Mateusz Kiempa riding Libertina (32) is in second
Hungary is in second place with just three riders competing; Imre Tóth riding Zypresse 8, Noémi Viola Doerfer riding Crystal Barney and Balázs Kaizinger riding Clover 15 are on a total score of 104.3
A Czech team was meant to be also taking part but have been reduced to just two individuals competing, so the battle for Olympic team qualification is now between Poland, who won the CCIO4*-L competition here in 2019, enabling them to compete in the Tokyo Olympics for the first time after a 16-year break, and Hungary.
Ingrid Klimke rides Equistros Siena Just Do It
Germany’s Jerome Robine riding Black Ice leads the CCI4*-S ahead of Christoph Wahler (GER) and Felix Vogg (SUI).
Michael Jung and Ingrid Klimke are also competing for a prize pool of PLN 320,000 (approximately AU$115,000 or £60,000), currently in fifth and sixth places and have provided some insights into tomorrow's cross country!
