Sadly, we will not get to see the great Allstar B gallop around the cross country course at the Eventing Spring Carnival at Thoresby Park but he will be fondly remembered by all who visit this early season top eventing competition from 30 March – 2 April 2023

The Allstar B Enclosure is the place to be at Thoresby this year. Named after the British 2018 World Championship winning horse ridden by Ros Canter and owned by Caroline Moore, this prime viewing spot offers complimentary breakfast, lunch, and afternoon tea as you rub shoulders with the best in the business.

Throughout the competition, top riders and eventing professionals – including European Champion Nicola Wilson, leading coach Caroline Moore, and the World Number Three, Ros Canter – will visit the enclosure to lead educational and entertaining talks in a format that takes inspiration from Formula One’s Paddock Club.

The mix of horsepower and horses continues with a classic car meet to be held across the weekend at Thoresby, with over 500 rare and restored automobiles on show

On the equestrian side, competitors from Pony Club to top level eventing riders will be taking part across the classes over four days of competition. The feature class, the Lycetts Grantham Cup CCI4*-S, comes to a head with the cross-country finale on Sunday after show jumping earlier in the day and dressage on Friday and Saturday.

Thoresby’s early season position makes it an ideal preparation run for those aiming for Badminton Horse Trials CCI5* in May. Fans of the sport looking to get a glimpse of the front runners – and enjoy proximity to their favourite riders – can enjoy doing both in the Nottinghamshire parkland setting

Captain Mark Phillips will once again assist BEDE Events’ Stuart Buntine in designing the cross-country course while dressage and show jumping for the international classes will be on the sweeping lawns in front of Thoresby Hall

“This year’s Eventing Spring Carnival is guaranteed to be bigger and better than ever, with something to keep every member of the family entertained,” says Stuart Buntine of BEDE Events.

“Whether it is our ‘Kids in the Courtyard’ activities, fairground attractions, local and artisan food avenue, the hospitality enclosures or the world-class sporting action.”

Saturday evening offers the chance to don glad rags in fine company, as last year’s hugely successful charity ball returns to Thoresby Hall with an aim to raise £10,000 for sporting charities through ticket sales and a silent auction on the night.

Charity Ball Tickets are available for £85 per person, sold as a table of ten.

Allstar B Enclosure passes are priced at £85 per person, per day for the duration of the Eventing Spring Carnival. Members’ and day passes are available from £9 per person
