Competitors at this year's Tri-Star Eventing fixtures, which comprise all events organised by Musketeer Event Management (MEM) and BEDE Events, have the chance to win some exciting prizes in a series of accumulator leagues.
The Tri-Star Saracen Intermediate League is for riders contesting all Tri-Star intermediate and Two Star classes. British Eventing points won at Tri-Star events will be added up and the most successful rider after the final event, Osberton, will be awarded not only a tonne of Saracen horse feed, a rug and clothing but, most notably, three days of training with a Saracen Horse Feeds brand ambassador.
Saracen Horse Feeds also sponsors the Tri-Star Saracen Grass Roots Bursary. This caters for riders at BE80, BE90 and BE100 level, with points awarded to competitors who have never ridden at intermediate level and who finish in the top 10 in each class. The same feed, rug and clothing will be awarded to the winner alongside a bursary that includes training with a Saracen dressage, showjumping and event rider. In both the Intermediate and Grass Roots leagues, prizes will also be awarded to the second and third ranked rider.
Novice riders can target the Tri-Star Fairfax Saddles Novice League. Points for this can be won by the top 10 eligible horse and rider combinations at all Tri-Star novice and One Star classes throughout 2018, with the proviso that riders must not have competed at Four Star level in the last 10 years. Generous prizes in the form of Fairfax tack will be awarded to the top three points winners, with all three league presentations taking place at the final qualifying event of the year, Osberton International.
Completing the range of opportunities, the Tri-Star Grand Slam returns for another year with slightly different rules. For 2018 the qualifying classes comprise the CIC***s at Barefoot Retreats Burnham Market, Belton and Saracen Horse Feeds Houghton Internationals. Should a rider win two of the three classes, they will take home a cheque for £50,000 in a 'winner takes all' format.
