Sarah ‘Cutty’ Cohen and her 15 year gelding Treason decided to ease their way into the season at the Barefoot Estates Burnham Market after the winter break and finished on top of the CIC2* leader board, adding nothing to their dressage score of 37.2.
Sarah, who was selected for the British team at the 2004 Athens Olympics now describes herself as a 'one horse amateur rider and mum' but she is hoping to head to Burghley later this year if the season continues as well as it started at their first event back

Sarah and Treason were in second place after the dressage phase behind the Japanese rider Kazuma Tomoto riding Brookfield Vikenti but a rail in the show jumping and 1.6 time penalties on cross country dropped them down to fifth (42) while his fellow country man Yoshiaki Oiwa on The Duke of Cavan moved into fourth place thanks to two double clear jumping rounds.
Yoshiaki also finished 10th in this class on Calle 44, making it a good day at the office for the Japanese contingent who also had Toshiyuki Tanaka competing on three horses in the CIC3*

Sarah’s win foiled young Emily King’s attempt to win her first international level event; as at so many events, Emily finished in second place riding Walitze F Vejgard, finishing on her dressage score of 39.2. Emily is way overdue for a win at this level and will no doubt really celebrate when it finally happens!

While it was a good weekend for Piggy French, her sister Nini was also celebrating with a third place on Time For Harry, her big horse who is now growing into himself
New Zealand’s Blyth Tait and Darius rounded out the top six of the CIC2* in sixth place
