The romantic 19th century gothic Cholmondeley Castle, which stands on a high rise above its lake will once again be the backdrop for the Cholmondeley Castle Horse Trials, in its eighth year of hosting a British Event fixture
The Cholmondeley Estate has family links with Houghton Hall, another of the British Eventing fixtures run by Musketeer Event Management and both provide beautiful venues for eventing
The cross country course designed by Alec Lochore runs through the parkland overlooked by Cholmondeley Castle, making good use of the natural topography and is designed with the intention of providing good confidence runs prior to the Autumn 3 Day Events.
As well as running classes at Open Intermediate level, including an OI Under 21, the event is part of the Tri-Star Eventing Series and competitors can gain points for the ongoing Novice and Grassroots Leagues which culminate later in the year
