France’s Gaspard Maksud has added another win to the French invasion of British Eventing with the UK-based French rider winning the SEES Open Intermediate at the South of England (1)
Despite not being an FEI competition, it was a very international event with Gaspard and the nine-year-old mare Zaragoza II fighting off strong competition from Italy’s Vittoria Pannizon riding Chatter On, Japan’s Kazuma Tomoto riding Brookpark Vikenti and New Zealand’s Tim and Jonelle Price in the top six
Gaspard also won the Day Equestrian Intermediate Section P on board She’s The One while the Mid Sussex Timber Intermediate Section O was won by Ellie Fredericks, daughter of Lucinda and Clayton, on board Mandorior
The offspring of famous parents also did well in the Inkerman London Open Novice U18 with Tina Cook’s daughter Isabelle taking the top three places in the class and Tina also scored a win in the Lingfield Equine Vets Novice Section M on board Kings Lane
Tina's Team GB teammate Pippa Funnell (and the daughter of event organiser Jenny Nolan) was not competing as she is getting ready for Kentucky and Badminton but she was busy at the event - looking after the volunteers and handing out refreshments on course - all part of the eventing life!
