An Eventful Life is filming all competitors on cross country at
Frenchfield (1) Horse Trials 2023 - order or view videos here
We’re heading north to Frenchfield Farm near Penrith in Cumbria and the good news is that the weather forecast is good and the going looks great!
Frenchfield (1) Horse Trials is the first of three British Eventing competitions run by Cumbria Events, with classes from BE80 to Open Novice running on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st, plus GO BE at 80 and 90cm.
BE Technical Adviser Martyn Johnson and BE Steward Sue Stewart gave Frenchfield (1) a big tick of approval at their inspection on 9th May and we have already fallen in love with some furry friends on course and can’t wait to see them in our cross country videos.
“Harry The Hedgehog” returns (and apparently is signing copies of his new book “Prickly Leap” at Novice Fence 9 on Saturday!) while “Sydney The Squirrel” is making an appearance at Fence 7.
Say hello to Sydney The Squirrel
You can check out the course maps, timetable and entries on the Official Digital programme here
We already know some of the winners at Frenchfield (1) but it’s not because we have a crystal ball. Six very organised people were among the early entries for Frenchfield (1) and so have already got their cross country video voucher in the bag. Congratulations to Kelly Brown, Rebecca Grant, Rebecca Le Blond, Josie Proctor, Katy Stephens Grandy and Annabel Walsh and we hope you all have a great ride this weekend
The big news for Cumbria Events this year is the addition of Warwick Hall as an International level event, now running a CCI1* at the June event and entries are still open here
