Allerton Park Horse Trials 2024 – order or view XC Videos here
For fans of Oliver Townend and the big grey Ballaghmor Class, there is a treat in store this weekend at Allerton Park Horse Trials where Oliver will be competing several horses, including the 2023 Defender Burghley winner, in the Open Intermediate class on Sunday 22nd September.
A day out at Allerton Park, near Knaresborough in North Yorkshire is a treat in itself as the 250-acre estate with its lakes and scenic views is rarely open to the general public but it is the perfect place to enjoy a weekend picnic.
The BE100, Novice and Intermediate Novice classes on Saturday, which includes a Novice Masters, are now waitlist only but Sunday entries are still open, including an additional BE100 class following the cancellation of Bishop Burton (3).
As well as Oliver, last year’s Intermediate and Novice class winners, Lizzie Baugh with Piltown Concorde and Chac, return this year in the Open Intermediate and the recently crowned British Novice Champion, Katie Magee, will be competing both Cushlas Indigo and the Pau-bound Treworra. It will also be the swansong for Ian Stark as cross country course designer as these courses at Allerton Park will be the last he designs in England.
We’ll be filming all competitors on cross country so keep an eye on our socials for snippets during the weekend and our full wrap up here afterwards!
