After winning The Albert Bowl at Osborne Horse Trials yesterday, Oliver Townend told us that they celebrated every win and he will be celebrating yet again this evening with not only a win but also second place in The Victoria Bowl class

Today the win came on board Cillnabradden Evo, who took the lead from his stable mate Cooley SRS in the dressage with a score of 24.1 and then both horses put in double clear show jumping rounds

Cooley SRS, going out of turn during the cross country phase, came home with just 1.2 time penalties putting Oliver into a very good position on a score of 27.1 and neither of the two chasing Australians, Sam Griffiths and Andrew Hoy, made the time to beat him. But it was a question of whether Cillnabradden Evo could move ahead and he did, coming home slightly slower than Cooley SRS with two time penalties but finishing on a score of 26.1

Oliver’s first time visit to the Isle of White has certainly been a happy one, not just as an enjoyable ‘holiday with four horses and my best friends’ but also a lucrative one, taking home £17,000 for first and second places plus £5,500 for yesterday’s results

"Events like this are making it a much better lifestyle for event riders like me"
