We’re back at Barbury again for the Barbury Unaffiliated Horse Trials, being run by Musketeer Event Management, the team that run Barbury International.
Whilst their boss Alec Lochore is hot footing it to Tokyo where he is the Equestrian Competition Manager, Musketeer will be welcoming riders at the grassroots level of the sport (just as important at the Olympic guys and girls!) to Barbury
Three days of eventing at BE80, BE90 and BE100 for all ages will take place at Barbury Castle Estate near Marlborough in Wiltshire, where some of the Tokyo-bound riders had their last hit-out last week and where Andrew Nicholson took yet another CCI4* title
Barbury Unaffiliated is also a qualifier for the Cotswold Cup Challenge, a new Unaffiliated eventing series for 2021 which takes place across events in the Cotswolds and surrounding areas and culminates in the final at Gatcombe Park in September
Barbury Unaffiliated kicks off today (Friday) with 80cm, 90cm and 100am classes. Saturday sees the Junior and Senior 80cm and 90cm classes take place with more 90cm classes plus 100cm for Senior and Junior on Sunday
