This year’s Berkshire College of Agriculture (BCA) Horse Trials is part of BEDE Events’ new Arena Saddles Novice League

Open to registered members of British Eventing who haven’t competed at Intermediate and above in the previous five years, points can be collected by a horse and rider combination in any of the specified sections across the qualification events (see below) and the Osberton International finale.

Qualifications Events

    BCA – 10 – 11th June

    Catton Park – 17 – 18th June

    Brightling Park – 1 – 2nd July

    Buckminster Park – 8 – 9th July

    Richmond – 14 – 15th July

    Shelford Manor (2) – 26 – 28th August

The eventual winner will be crowned at the conclusion of the Osberton CCI2*L and will ride away with a brand-new Arena Saddle of their choice.

Five Novice sections are being contested this weekend at BCA, as well as BE100, BE90 and GO BE classes, with the ‘two Cooks’ – Tina and daughter Isabelle - competing against each other in the Novice Section A but it is in the Open Novice U18 where there are some very well-known names.

The names however belong to the four-legged partners with Tom McEwen’s past 5* ride Figaro Van Het Broekxhof, Nicola Wilson’s Ngong Hills, Tom Crisp’s Vendome Biats and Austin O’Connor’s Kilpatrick Knight all enjoying their later lives with young riders and having a run this weekend.

We’re filming all competitors on cross country and don't forget to follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for video snippets and more!
