Pippa Funnell and Billy Beware
Pippa Funnell leads the way in the CICO3* on Jonathan and Jane Clarke's Billy Beware at the Saracen Horse Feeds Houghton International after the first day of dressage
Pippa and Billy Beware retired on course at Badminton but will be out to remedy that result here and have begun well with a very good score of 24 ahead of Sweden’s Therese Viklund and Diabolique (25.4), a member of the Swedish Nations Cup team who started well at Chatsworth recently, and Holly Woodhead on Parkfield Quintessential (26.6)

New Zealand’s Jesse Campbell and Diachello II lead the CCI1* with a score of 27.10 ahead of Caroline Harris on board Falko TH (28.3) and Hong Kong’s Annie Ho on Jockey Club Weronique (29.1). Annie is also currently in the top ten of the CCI2* but this class has more of a French flavour with Tom Carlile and the gorgeous grey Upsilon leading the way (29.2) but only just, with Australia’s Brook Staples and Doonaveeragh O Six in second place (29.3) and Piggy French riding Graf Cavalier in third (29.4)

Sam Ecroyd, second here last year is determined to have a good crack and last year’s Champion, Felicity Collins is back with two horses
