Entries are open and tickets on sale for Burgham International Horse Trials (24th – 28th July) in Northumberland where you can watch not only the real-life action right in front of your eyes but also the Paris 2024 Olympic Games cross country on the big screen on Sunday.

Situated in beautiful, tranquil Northumbrian countryside between Morpeth and Alnwick, Burgham is the premier equestrian event in the north of England. It attracts all of Britain’s most famous horses and riders and provides a brilliant chance to see the stars of the eventing world in a particularly friendly, relaxed setting.

Burgham has international eventing classes at CCI4*-S, CCI3*-S and CCI2*-S level, as well as national classes for professional and grassroots riders from Open Intermediate to BE90. There are also hotly contested Dubarry Young Event Horse qualifiers, and a Thoroughbreds and Ex-Racehorses show.

As well as the sporting action, there’s plenty of entertainment, such as a fun dog show, great tradestands and lots of delicious, locally-produced food and drink and public bars. The cross-country from the Paris Olympics will be shown at Burgham on the Sunday of the event (28 July).

Burgham is part of the Northumberland Challenge, which offers big-money rewards to riders who win at CCI3*-S, CCI2*-S and - new for this year at BE100 level - at Northumberland’s three international events: Belsay, Alnwick Ford and Burgham.

“Burgham is one of the most popular horse trials in the UK with riders, owners and spectators alike. It has the stars and the feel of a major event, but without the associated ticket prices, and with a laid-back and welcoming feel” says Event Director Craig Anderson “We’re expecting great entries again this year, and we look forward to seeing you all.”

Take advantage of the early-bird ticket offers, which offer great discounts. Car parking is free, and children under 12 can also enter for free.
