Updated 11th May

All Novice sections (not CCI2*S) have been abandoned at Chatsworth International on Saturday 13 May but all other BE/FEI classes, including the second leg of the FEI Nations Cup, are currently proceeding as planned.

“Unfortunately we have experienced heavy rain today which has put considerable strain on our infrastructure, given the number of horses we are expecting on site” say the organisers

“In an effort to give as many horses as possible a much needed run, we are going to have to abandon both Novice sections and all Friday Arena Eventing.

Our team are working tirelessly, and with an improvement in weather forecasted, we’re looking forward to welcoming everyone on Friday”

Nine teams have entered the FEI Nations Cup and, although many international riders are based in Britain, several have travelled from afar. The British team, which has a good record in this series, has been drawn an advantageous eighth. The order of countries is: France, Belgium, Ireland, Netherlands, USA, Italy, New Zealand, Great Britain and Spain.

10th May Preview

In one of the major changes on the 2023 British Eventing calendar, the only British leg of the FEI Eventing Nations Cup, previously held at Houghton Hall, will take place at Chatsworth International on 13th & 14th May this year

Chatsworth House in Derbyshire is one of the quintessential backdrops for British eventing with its cross country course, designed by Ian Stark, famous for its hills and demanding terrain

As well as the CCI4*-S, incorporating the FEI Nations Cup, the event features a CCI2*-S and National level classes at Advanced and Novice

The event kicks off with dressage on Friday 12th May, which continues for the 153 CCI4*-S entries on Saturday, with show jumping and cross country on Sunday. The Nations Cup team competitors will showjump and head out on cross country at the start of the class, giving spectators a chance to cheer their teams on
