Chris Burton and Quality Purdey in the Grantham Cup CIC3*
Chris Burton had a good weekend at Belton International with a win in the CIC2* Section H on board Bahira M and 12th place on Polystar I in the same class plus sixth place in the hotly contested Lycetts Grantham Cup CIC3* on board the 12 year old mare Quality Purdey
Two years ago Chris won the Grantham Cup at Belton on board Nobilis 18, owned by Chris’ strong supporters Sue Lawson and Carolyn Townsend, who then went on to win the CCI4* at Burghley later that year. Nobilis 18 was back at Belton International this year but this time it was for a gentle canter around the Intermediate course as preparation for his next run, which will be a big one in the CCI4* at Kentucky
Chris, his wife Bek and son Harry head to Kentucky on Wednesday to join Nobilis after his hop across the Atlantic
