Catton Park Horse Trials 2023 - order or view videos here
The popular Catton Park Horse Trials on the Derbyshire and Staffordshire borders was meant to return in 2022 but is definitely back in 2023 and ready to roll this weekend.
The 250-acre parkland at Catton Park held horse trials from 1993 - 2018 but this year the event will be part of the BEDE Events’ stable.
“We really want to ensure the future of what is a wonderful event, held over a picturesque, historic estate situated on the banks of the River Trent near Alrewas” says Stuart Buntine of BEDE
Catton is a glorious private Estate ideally situated in the centre of England and perfectly laid out for events. The 250 acres of surrounding parkland have been in the hands of the same family since 1405 and the present Hall, built in the 1740s, is the home of the Neilson family and currently run by Oliver and Lindsay Neilson.
This year’s event will run on 17th & 18th June with Novice and Intermediate classes on Saturday, including a Novice Masters Section and the BE90 and BE100 classes on Sunday.
Riders in the Intermediate sections can participate in the Investec Intermediate League with points allocated at events throughout the season, culminating in the final at Osberton International.
Our hot pick for the Open Intermediate at Catton Park is Tom McEwen on JL Dublin, who took second place in the CCI5* at Kentucky and has just named on the British squad for Aachen.
