Entries open for Eventing Spring Carnival at Thoresby Park 2025

Entries are open for the 2025 Eventing Spring Carnival at Thoresby Park in Nottinghamshire.

Points, prizes and pounds on offer

The first British Eventing FEI competition of the year (Thursday 27th – Sunday 30th March 2025) will host international classes at CCI2*-S, CCI3*-S and CCI4*-S level plus national classes at Advanced, Intermediate and Novice levels. There is also an Open Intermediate U21 class, where young up and coming competitors will be able to gain points for this year’s Event Horse Owners Association (EHOA) Plum Rowland Award, to be presented at the end of the year.

Another Award encouraging up and coming riders is the Polly Phillipps Memorial Trophy, a feature prize at Thoresby. Presented to the highest British rider in the Lycett's Grantham Cup who has not yet represented Great Britain on a Senior championship team (Olympic, World or European), this has gone to Emily King for the past two years.

Emily, a rider that has made the very successful transition from junior star to senior ‘one to watch’, has taken home the feature CCI4* class incorporating the prestigious Lycetts Grantham Cup twice in a row here – can she make it three?

The stakes are also high at this year’s Grantham Cup, with Lycetts renewing its sponsorship and presenting  a £1,000 prize to the highest-ranked Lycetts-insured rider; Ireland's Austin O’Connor won last year’s booty with his second place in the feature class.

Ones to watch

This event is also great indicator of things to come in the year ahead. In 2024 Caroline Harris and D.Day won the CCI3*-S at Thoresby, going on to take the 5* win at Les 5 Etoiles de Pau later that year while Tom McEwen’s Brookfield Quality, the CCI2*-S winner, took third place in the same 5* at Pau.

And, with the Agria FEI European Eventing Championships at Blenheim Place on the horizon in September, selectors will be keeping a close eye on horse and rider form at the first big event of the year.

As well as entries open, the Box Office is also open for spectators and you can get your tickets here (buy now for Early Bird Tickets and Free Parking until 28th Feb)
