Floors Castle International 2019 – find out more here
We’re heading north this week with two of Britain’s ducal homes welcoming the eventing fraternity at Floors Castle International and Chatsworth International
Floors Castle in Scotland is a beautiful venue and it has attracted British Eventing’s top two riders over the border for the international classes on Thursday and Friday. Oliver Townend, who so nearly missed out on his second 5* title of 2019 just a few days ago at Badminton, is bringing seven horses to compete in the CCI3*-S and CCI2*-S and Izzy Taylor, last year’s CCI2* winner, is riding five in the same classes
Oliver may have dropped from the World Number One spot recently, but he currently tops the British Eventing Rider Ranking with a massive 1531 points ahead of Izzy on 1439 points; both riders are well ahead of third placed Gemma Tattersall on 1106 points
There are plenty of other big names, especially from the north of England, including Northallerton-based Nicola Wilson with several horses including the up and coming talented JL Dublin, Chiraz III and All We Need.
Scotland’s Wills Oakden is on form after a win at Kelsall Hill recently and he will be competing four horses in the CCI2*-S while last year’s CIC1* winner, Germany’s Antonia Baumgart, is back for another crack at both international classes
We’ll be bringing you updates from north of the border so stay tuned but in the meantime, here is a little taster of what is to come …..
