Hartpury International 2024 & British National Championships – order or view XC Videos here
Get ready for a week of jam-packed eventing action at Hartpury College & University in Gloucestershire from 7th -11th August, where the 2024 NAF Five Star International Horse Trials, incorporating the British National Eventing Championships, are taking place.
Normally run at Gatcombe Park in August, the British National Eventing Championships have relocated to Hartpury this year, so we’ll get to enjoy the action across the British Open Championship, British Intermediate Championship, British Novice Championship, British Novice Restricted Novice Championship (Corinthian Cup), and Retrained Racehorse Championship as well as the usual CCI2*, CCI3* and CCI4* classes.
It all kicks off on Tuesday with the Dubarry Burghley Young Event Horse qualifier while the CCI2*-L and CCI3*-L competitors are the first into the dressage arenas on Wednesday and Thursday.
The British Open Championship starts on Saturday with dressage in the morning and showjumping in the afternoon, followed by cross country on Sunday. The Advanced level class has a host of big names including Oliver Townend and Cooley Rosalent, fresh off a 4* win at Burgham International, Kitty King and Vendredi Biats, Emily King and Valmy Biats and Tim and Jonelle Price on multiple horses.
The CCI4* class starts on Thursday with both showjumping and cross country on Saturday and again, is packed with top class horses and jockeys. Japan’s Toshiyuki Tanaka and Jefferson, freshly returned from a bronze medal winning performance in Paris where they only had to contest one round of showjumping, will be here along with teammates Ryuzo Kitajima riding Be My Daisy and his Burghley-bound Feroza Nieuwmoed.
Australia and New Zealand are well represented – Australia’s Sophia Hill bringing her two off the track thoroughbreds, Humble Glory and Seattle Park, Kenya Wilson riding Sandros Salute MW, Sammi Birch on Finduss PFB, Bill Levett on Brideview Master George and Manon Schey with RLE Cavalier Vivendi, while Jesse Campbell, Tayla Mason, Vicky Browne-Cole and Lauren Innes will be competing for New Zealand in this class. Add to that the British heavy hitters such as Pippa Funnell, Gemma Stevens, Tom McEwen, Piggy March, Bubby Upton and Yas Ingham and we have some amazing competition coming up!
Join us each day for an update from Hartpury where we’re filming all competitors on cross country and stay tuned to our socials for video snippets and more!
