“What we can promise you is a weekend of thrills, perfect ground, exciting and challenging courses, BE trainers on site in addition to a farrier, vet and paramedic support (though we like them to be a bit bored!), a very friendly and supportive atmosphere, quick scores, great prizes, great food, trade stands and of course some sunshine (god willing) and ice cream. We have one of the best and only events in the area where you can watch almost every XC jump from one vantage point - great for spectators!” say the organisers of Horseheath Horse Trials and we’d back that up!
The Horseheath April event certainly went well (read our report from Horseheath 1 here) and the August fixture will see a few additions to the schedule to get people extra-excited. In addition to the 80/90/100 levels, Horseheath will be running a BE105 and one of the new Under 18 classes run at BE90Ou18 level announced recently by British Eventing.
The new BE90 Open Under 18 programme has been introduced to give under 18 riders further opportunities to gain competition experience within their age group across more levels of the sport. The intention is for the new level to grow the current under 18 programme, providing a fun and educational stepping stone up to the BE100 Open under 18 programme and helping young riders to improve their performance.
The new level will incorporate a BE90 Open Under 18 Regional Team Championship, to be held in 2020 at Bishop Burton College in Yorkshire alongside the BE100 Open and Novice Open Under 18 Regional Team Championships.
Hosreheath (2) is also running a 4 Year Old qualifier at BE90 level for the British Eventing Young Horse National Championships, held annually at Osberton International Horse Trials in Nottinghamshire.
