It was a good day at the office on Friday for several big names in British eventing at Little Downham (1) Horse Trials in Cambridgeshire
Kitty King, Tom McEwen, Bubby Upton, Tom Jackson, Laura Schroter and Heidi Coy were winners and placegetters with Tom McEwen and Bubby Upton taking two classes each.
Kitty King’s Ceylor LAN was not out much in late 2022 but this year he’s run twice – both times for a win!
The 16-year-old gelding has added to his win in the Advanced at Cirencester Park (1) with another win at Little Downham (1), adding 8.8 time penalties on cross country to his very good dressage score of 23.7 to take the win. Kitty also took fifth place in this class on board Erano M
Laura Schroter rides Willem Van Wup
Laura Schroter riding Willem Van Wup was the star of the day, taking the Open Intermediate by starting and finishing on an excellent score of 19.6, almost six penalties ahead of Mark Davidson riding Fonbherna Lancer and Tom Jackson on board Dassett Endeavour.
But Tom got his red ribbon in the Intermediate Section B on Dazzling Intuition, another one to finish on their dressage score (26.6)
Tom McEwen took both the Intermediate Section A riding Falaise De Riverland and the Novice Section H riding Brookfield Quality Time while Bubby Upton bagged the Intermediate Section C riding Its Cooley Time and the Novice Section G with Shannondale Bertie
