Little Downham (1) kicks off the British Eventing season for Ely Eventing this weekend with three days of eventing in Cambridgeshire running classes from BE90 to Advanced. What better way can there be to celebrate the Queen's Jubilee than with three days of equestrian sport?
On Friday the event welcomes Intermediate and Advanced riders from across the country, as well as a plethora of international competitors who may have re-routed from events such as Badminton, Chatsworth and Houghton or are making their preparations for the CCI5* event at Luhmulen.
Saturday sees the bulk of Novice competitors, along with a strong 5YO qualifier where we look to find some of the stars of the future. Among the ‘ones to watch’ are World Number One, Oliver Townend with a number of the Caunton horses, and reigning World Champion Ros Canter.
On Saturday we're joined by a HUGE entry of grassroots competitors for the BE100 and BE90 classes, along with the Rossdales Veterinary Surgeons U18 classes.
Entry is free for spectators, with a variety of trade stands and catering outlets available onsite. Cross-country starts at 10am on Friday and Saturday, with Sunday seeing an earlier start of 9.30am
We’re filming all riders on cross country and you can also follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for video snippets and more during the event
