Osborne House - find out more here
We tipped Ludwig Svennerstal as one to watch in this unique competition format at Osborne House and he didn’t disappoint today, although the winning horse was probably not the one we had expected
Ludwig and Fit For Fun Raa finished in third (above) while Fialotta took the top prize (below)
Ludwig’s eight year old mare Fit For Fun Raa led after the dressage and show jumping phases, jumping one of only four double clear show jumping rounds in the class and was the last horse on cross country. But it was his another of his mares, Fialotta, that had earlier produced the fastest time on cross country, that took the win on a score of 32.8, just 0.1 penalty ahead of Emily King while Fit For Fun Raa finished in third place on 33, making it all very close
Jane Del Missier and Emily King
Jane Del Missier, owner of the seven year old grey stallion Quinlan Z ridden by Emily King, was obviously delighted with her horse’s performance but admitted to being quite surprised at second place.
Quinlan Z and Emily produced one of the few clear show jumping rounds (the other two came from Andrew Hoy on Basmati and Hasenacher Jack Sparrow) then put in the second fastest cross country ride with just 2.8 time penalties to finish on 32.9
We're loving this young horse - Quinlan Z is the complete jumping package
