It has been a rather soggy start to the season at BEDE Events Headquarters at Shelford Manor, with their office being underwater a couple of weeks ago, but hopefully that means all the wet stuff is out of the way for this season.
Undeterred, the BEDE team are putting their best foot forward and readying for the start of their 2024 British eventing season which kicks off with the very popular Oasby (1) Horse Trials, held at Foxdale near Grantham in Lincolnshire.
Entries open today, Monday 29th January and, with the British Eventing ballot system still in place this year, the Ballot date will be 6th February.
One of the most popular events of the early season, Oasby (1) is renowned for well-draining land and is the perfect spot for some of the big guns to blow out the cobwebs as they start to ramp up for the first British based FEI event of the season at Thoresby Park International later in the month.
Oliver Townend, Ros Canter, Piggy March and Izzy Taylor are often among the top-level riders we see at Oasby (1) and we can’t wait to see them out on course again.
We’ll be filming all competitors on cross country, plus snippets during the event and of course a full wrap up with comments from the winners after the event. We’ll see you there!
