Oasby Horse Trials in Lincolnshire is one of the few British Eventing fixtures in 2020 that has managed to fit two events into this year’s very unusual calendar
The wonderful draining land at the venue makes it ideal as an opening and closing event for the season, which is how it has also avoided some of the lockdown periods. Oasby (1) went ahead in early March and now Oasby (2), which will run from 24th – 26th October with classes from BE90 to Open Intermediate, will also host this year’s British Eventing Five-Year-Old Championship
This special class, run at BE100 level, is part of the British Eventing National Championships, which took place for the 6-Year-Old and 7-Year-Olds at this year’s Osberton International Horse Trials at Thoresby Park earlier this month
As the Five-Year-Old Championship hosts fewer combinations than the international classes, the organisers, in conjunction with British Eventing, felt it sensible to move the 2020 Five-Year-Old Championship to Oasby (2), who already run classes at BE100 level.
