Pippa Funnell took the two top places in the Advanced Intermediate at South of England (1) on Sunday with a win on Maja’s Hope and second place on board Morelands Celebration
The 14-year-old gelding Majas Hope, who won the Advanced at Festival of British Eventing and competed at Luhmuhlen CCI5* in 2019, had a very quiet season in 2020 with just one start at Aston Le Walls but came back to competition with an impressive start in the dressage this weekend.
A score of 25.8 was well ahead of the field, apart from Tina Cook on Billy The Red (28.5) who was then withdrawn, and a clear show jumping round and 10.8 time penalties on cross country sealed the deal for Pippa on a score of 36.6
Moreland’s Celebration also added the same number of time penalties on cross country for second place (41.2) and Tina took third place on Mexican Law (47.3)
