An Eventful Life is filming all competitors on cross country at
Richmond (1) 2022 - order or view videos here
There is just one British Eventing competition scheduled to take place at Richmond Equestrian Centre in 2022 and it is coming up this weekend
Earlier in the year Andrew and Abigail Turnbull made the decision not to run Richmond Horse Trials (2) in September 2022 but will be running more of their own events on the cross country fields, including The Richmond Cup (Saturday 16th July 2022), Pleasure Rides, Cross Country Schooling (90cm to Intermediate), Hunter Trials and more
The BE dates for Richmond Horse Trials have traditionally always clashed with Badminton and Burghley and this week is no exception but the team at Richmond are fully focussed on their own ‘big event’ in North Yorkshire.
One name that will be missing is that of local hero and last year’s Richmond (2) Open Intermediate winner, Nicola Wilson, who is competing at Badminton, but there are plenty of other top combinations such as Wills Oakden, Eliza Stoddart, James Avery and the recent Open Novice winner at the recent Kelsall Hill International, Kristina Hall-Jackson on her new ride, the talented Grey Finnsky
All the courses for 2022 have been designed to help the less experienced combinations have a fun and pleasurable experience. There are interesting new features on some of the courses and there will be multiple use of the black flag alternatives. The tracks make use of the excellent terrain and ground at Richmond, which is kept and prepared specifically for the horse trials, while the show jumping phase runs on an all-weather surface with excellent warm-up facilities
Friday sees the Intermediate, Open Intermediate, Novice and one BE100 section
Saturday more Novice classes, including the Open Novice, and BE100 and more BE100 on Saturday and Sunday with the BE90 also on Sunday
We’ll see you there!
