Saturday was another sunny day on the rolling ampitheatre of the Keyflow Feeds Barbury International and it was a record breaking one for Britain’s Mollie Summerland and Charly Van Ter Heiden
The 2021 Luhmuhlen CCI5* winners smashed the British Eventing CCIO4*-S dressage test by scoring 18.7 and moving ahead of overnight leader Pippa Funnell, now in second (23.4) and third (24.7) places on Billy Walk On and Billy Wonder
Mollie’s score equalled the previous best CCI4* dressage score – also 18.7 - produced by Izzy Taylor riding Orlando at Bramham in 2014 while the best finishing score at Barbury International is 22.1, produced by France’s Tom Carlile riding Upsilon in 2017
It has been a good couple of days for Alex Bragg who won the Novice Section D on Friday riding Shannondale Ardeo and took the CCI3*-S (28.7) on board Quindiva on Saturday. Max Warburton riding Monbeg Exclusive (owned by the King of Barbury himself, Andrew Nicholson) took second place (32.6) and Wills Oakden riding Cooley Pot of Gold took third (33.7)
