Saturday at Burnham Market International 2019

      Kitty King and Vendredi Biats

An Eventful Life is filming all competitors on cross country at

Burnham Market International - find out more here

Kitty King took a trip to the Norfolk coast today to ‘put the foot down a bit’ after a steady run at Belton International on board Vendredi Biats and went home with a win in the Advanced, leading after the dressage and adding just 5.2 time penalties on cross country

The coastal wind can whip through the venue at the Barefoot Retreats Burnham Market International, especially on the top field where the dressage is held, but Vendredi Biats behaved himself impeccably

Oliver Townend and Ulises were close behind, finishing in second place of this class on a score of 30.30 but Oliver can’t complain as he currently leading both CCI4* sections with Ballaghmor Class on a score of 21.80 in the Section B and Cillnabradden Evo leading the 4* Section C on a score of 21.30 as well as winning today’s Intermediate Section L on Arklow Puissance

     Izzy Taylor and Liscarrow Conista

Izzy Taylor also enjoyed a good day at the office, taking third, fourth and sixth in the Advanced on Liscarrow Conista (30.80), Perfect Stranger (31) and PSH Gazelle (39.80) while Perfect Stranger’s previous jockey, Andrew Nicholson, took fifth place on the Badminton-bound Swallow Springs

Another Kiwi combination heading to Badminton, Jesse Campbell and Cleveland, won the Open Intermediate Section M and Nicola Wilson took the Open Intermediate Section N on All We Need. Piggy French and Sportsfield Top Notch won the Intermediate Section K

Tomorrow sees the climax of the CCI4*-S classes with show jumping and cross country. Laura Collett on London 52 (23.10) and Emily King on Dargun (25) are chasing Oliver in the 4* Section C, followed by young Mollie Summerland riding Charlie Van Ter Heiden, who are on a bit of a roll at the moment, and Australia’s Bill Levett on Shannondale Titan

In the 4* Section B it is Pippa Funnell on MGH Grafton Street while Will Furlong in third place currently is the challenging ‘young gun’
