Five sections of BE100 classes ran at Oasby on Easter Saturday with Nina Haas having a good day taking the win in Section H on board JVK Mr Maguire and second place in the BE100 Open Section I behind Willa Newton
Willa didn’t have many runs last year due to Covid and an injury that sidelined her for several months, but she came out firing on all cylinders at Oasby on the eight-year-old mare Light The Fuse, winning on their dressage score.
The BE100 Open U18 Section G was taken by Annie Smith riding her own Annaghmore Lad, following up their win in the BE90 U18 here last year, while Ellie Healy was delighted to get her first ever win on board Class Move in the BE100 Open U18 Section K. She may be a European Pony Team gold medallist but she has now ticked off something she has been trying to do for a while, saying that “After 7 years trying I have finally WON a BE event!!”
The BE100 Pony Trial was won by Ada Marson riding Tullibards Clover
Susie Berry followed up her very good mid-week start at Aston Elite with a win here on a horse at a different stage of his career. Riding the six-year-old Bhodi owned by Jayne Mcgivern, Susie won the BE90 Open in a hotly contested Section N ahead of Andrew Heffernan and Simon Grieve
We’ll be back with more from the BE90 and other Saturday classes in our full wrap-up next week.
