An Eventful Life is filming all competitors on cross country at
Stratford Hills - find out more here
After a very wet week in England, luckily Stratford Hills Horse Trials says that ‘The event can run in very wet conditions’ with course builder David Carpenter declaring on Facebook that the ground at Stratford Hills ‘THE BEST IT HAS EVER BEEN!!’
The dressage and show jumping arenas will still be aerovated to make them extra perfect and the cross course, which runs in an anti-clockwise direction again this year, was spiked in advance of the rain
Located near Colchester in Essex the event will be running BE90Open, BE100Open, NRF, N, IN, BE90, BE100, BE100Ou18, ON, BE80(T) classes on Saturday and Sunday and hopefully the weather report is accurate in saying that the weather is on the improve! An additional BE90 has been added on Saturday and entries are still open for all classes so, if you need to re-route from wet ground last week, here’s your chance
We’ll be filming all riders on cross country with Jess Johnson, who is running our PhD project into improving eventing safety through the use of video analysis, at the helm so make sure you say hi if you see her on course
Although new fences have been added for most levels and improvements made to the water jump for this year, you can still get a good idea of the terrain and general courses by watching last year's videos here
