One of the longest running horse trials in the country, the South of England Horse Trials was established in 1974 and hosts BE100, Novice and Intermediate classes in Sussex at the beginning of the season, followed up by its International event in September
This week the event, with Tim and Jenny Nolan at the helm, will see competitors taking part in classes from BE100 to CCI3*-S, including a CCI3* Junior class, as well as Intermediate and Open Intermediate classes
The South of England Horse Trials course runs over the South of England Showgrounds and adjoining farmland with show jumping will take place in the Main Ardingly Showground ring.
There are three separate tracks for BE100, Novice and Intermediate with the BE100 and Novice courses very suitable for young horses and the Intermediate, providing a good variety of solid well-built fences.
There will be new fences for the CCI-S3* and CCI-S2* classes which run cross country and show jumping on the Sunday while all phases of the CCI3*-Junior take place on the same day
