Tom McEwen and Dream Big at the 2018 South of England (2)
An Eventful Life is filming all competitors on cross country at
South Of England (1) - find out more here
With hair-cuts all done (you’ll have to read our article about one of our favourite Eventing Villages to visit to understand that reference!) we’re ready for this weekend’s event at South of England (1)
We have our fingers crossed that the weather gods stay kind as this event has had very bad luck for the past few years, having been cancelled in 2018 and 2016, but things are looking more promising this year with a fine cool day forecast on Saturday and just the chance of rain later in the day on Sunday
The BE100 classes complete on Saturday along with two sections of Novice while the rest of the Novice classes are held on Sunday along with the Intermediate/Open Intermediate and Advanced Intermediate on Sunday
Australia’s Kevin McNab has been having some good success with his young horses recently and has seven entered here, including the six-year-old Vidalgo, who recently won at Swalcliffe Park (check out their XC Video at Swalcliffe Park here)
Fresh from success at Belton International, Tom McEwen will be riding 10 horses across the two days including Ros Canter’s Rehy Royal Diamond in the Intermediate, his own CHF Cooliser in the Open Intermediate, winner of last year’s Festival of British Eventing Novice Championship and Dream Big who finished second in the Intermediate at 2018 South of England (2) and is back this weekend
Gemma Tattersall is entered in the Advanced Intermediate on a favourite for Badminton, Arctic Soul, so we hope that Gemma has recovered from her fall from Pamero 4 last weekend and we will see her back on full form again (hopefully not too bruised!)
Stay tuned to our social media channels for snippets during each day from the South of England (1) and we’ll be bringing you reports from this event and Aston-Le-Walls Unaffiliated (2) next week along with some fabulous cross country footage
