Tom Jackson went away with a win each day at the South of England (1), winning the Novice Section G riding Star Dragon on Saturday and the Open Intermediate on Sunday riding Pencos Crown Jewel, the 10 year old mare usually ridden by Ros Canter
Tom and Pencos Crown Jewel started with a very good dressage score of 27.3 for second place but a clear show jumping round and one of the fastest cross country rides with just 1.2 time penalties moved them into the lead on a score of 28.5, ahead of Georgia Bartlett riding Spano De Nazcar (31.7) and Pippa Funnell on MGH Grafton Street (38.6)

Tom also finished fourth in this class on the exciting young horse Capels Hollow Drift and brought his Badminton-bound mare Carpa Du Buisson Z for a dressage outing in the Advanced Intermediate. Several of the riders in this class opted to settle for just the dressage phase, including Gemma Tattersall who took a tumble last week at Belton but was once again smiling on board Arctic Soul, her ‘good old boy’ who is also heading to Badminton
We talked to Tom about his win in the Open Intermediate and his busy day at South of England (1)
