The 2024 Arena Saddles Novice League drew to a close at the Aspen Cooling Osberton International (2) Horse Trials with Vicky Hind and Blueford Galaxy retaining the lead they had held for much of the season.
Osberton (2) provided a fitting finale with double points on offer in the CCI2*-L with Vicky and Blueford Galaxy completing their first 2*-L in 33rd place of the hotly contested class to take the Arena Saddles League Series win on 51 points with Kathryn Bartlett riding ‘T’Biscuit second overall (37 points) and Clara Wilson on Grey Finnsky third (34 points).
In its second year the league was expanded to include eighteen fixtures, covering an expansive area from the South coast to central Scotland and Vicky targeted the series from the start of the year, gathering points at multiple events on her ‘horse of a lifetime’ that she has owned for the past four years.
“I’m very honoured to have won the Arena Saddles League, I still can’t quite believe it now!” said Vicky
“It’s great that BEDE are really trying to offer something for the amateurs, I really hope it can grow from here. I would say it’s encouraged me to keep pushing for that higher level with the end goal being Osberton 2*L which has been an amazing experience.”
Sponsors Arena Saddles, part of the Saddlery International portfolio of brands, awarded Vicky a saddle of her choice as the League winner prize.
