Oliver and Cooley SRS head out on cross country at Badminton 2018
Oliver Townend would have been returning to the 2020 Barefoot Retreats Burnham Market International this week as last year’s double defending champion, having won both CCI4*-S classes on Ballaghmor Class and Cillnabradden Evo in 2019
But it wasn’t only in 2019 that Oliver did well at this Norfolk event; he has racked up a many wins and places over the years including some on Cooley SRS, a horse now known as Willingapark Cooley and ridden by Hazel Shannon in Australia
Willingapark Cooley won his first class at Burnham Market International, taking a Novice class in 2013 and backing it up with a win in the CIC2* in 2016.
In 2017 they finished third in the Open Intermediate and returned in 2018 to stroll around the same class and finish in 11th place, just weeks before finishing in second place at Badminton Horse Trials. This is how they did it ....
