Andrew Hoy competing at The Fork, Tryon

A quick competition at Burnham Market for the lovely (leggy!) Brigant before Andrew headed to the USA

Andrew Hoy had several of his top horses entered for the Barefoot Retreats Burnham Market International but only competed the young horse Brigant on Thursday. Unlike many others who were unable to compete at the event due to the cancellation of the final day of competition, Andrew had another compelling reason to withdraw as a flight to the USA beckoned

Andrew’s nine year old grey gelding Basmati, owned by John and Louise Ayre, had already started his journey to North Carolina to compete in his first 3* event at The Fork at Tryon, and will be joined by Andrew at the venue which is hosting the 2018 World Equestrian Games. The Fork at Tryon takes place from 4th – 8th April and is acting as the Test Event for this year’s WEG

Andrew will be the only Australian rider competing although the Australian Eventing Chef d’Equipe Stuart Tinney will also be at Tryon to check out the facilities for the coming Championships as he told us in our recent interview

We wish Andrew lots of luck at the Test Event and look forward to hearing his thoughts on the venue when he returns
